In my practice as a therapist, I use the research on what works to help my clients get the outcomes they want: better relationships, managed anxiety, less depression, and more control over life.
I pursued a few paths in life before my career in mental health. I studied Modern Literature at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I worked for years as a math, science and SAT tutor. I trained and competed extensively in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My approach as a therapist draws on my previous experience coaching and educating adolescents and adults in athletic and academic environments.
I received my MS in Counseling from California State University, Long Beach. Since then I’ve worked as a therapist in group practice and outpatient treatment to help individuals and couples build healthy relationships, recover from substance abuse issues, and manage difficult emotional experiences. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, substance use issues, relationship issues, couples, and gay and lesbian clients.
